Studio Basement Remodel - Before
When we remodeled our 1947 Bungalow into a more accessible home, one project that was left undone was the old basement. The photos below show the remodel already in progress. Yes, it was even worse before! Like most basements it had water issues that we had to address. It was dark and dank, and just plain scary! We opened it up, added a small bathroom, more lighting, (already shown here), and refinished the 1950's metal sink. A basement may not be the perfect place for a studio, as I would prefer natural lighting, but I'll take what I've got and make it work! After all, it's a large space where I can leave my projects-in-progress out without having to clean up each time I work on them. All you artist/craft types know what I'm talking about, don't you? Check out the finished job following these "before" photos.
